Carol L. Hogue, 83, of Wayne Township passed away unexpectedly in her home Thursday, July 9th, 2021.
She was born on May 4th, 1938 in Ellwood City, a daughter of Howard and Lilabelle (Weingartner) Weisz.
She married Fred Hogue on July 1, 1960. He died on July 8th, 2021. She was reunited with him in heaven less than twenty four hours after his death. They spent 61 years together on earth and are now together for eternity.
Carol graduated from Lincoln High School in 1956. Carol was a teller for the Ellwood Federal, she retired from Pennsylvania American Water where she had been employed as a payroll clerk for many years. After her retirement she returned to work at ESB bank as a teller.
Carol loved reading and enjoyed time well spent with friends and family. She especially cherished spending time with her three granddaughters. They loved sleepovers at her house because, “what happens at grandma’s, stays at grandma’s.” Carol was a member of Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, Jon Hogue of Wayne Township. A daughter Cara Florie, son-in-law David Florie of Ellwood City, three granddaughters, Francesca and Talia Florie and Delaney Hogue, cherished sisters Glenda Brown and Janeen Weisz, and many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Ronald Weisz, and niece Kristen Barile.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, July 15th at Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church, Pastor Carolyn Moss officiant. Family visitation begins at 10:00am followed by the service at 11:00am.
