Carolyn “Curly” (Main) Smith, 91, formally of Wurtemburg passed away Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020 at Providence Care Center surrounded by her family.

Carolyn was born April 16, 1928 to the late Carl and Lena (Burr) Main. She was married on August 21,1947 to Edwin J. Smith, who preceded her in death on October 14, 2001.

She is survived by her daughter Colleen Sicard (Naples, FL) and sons John (Lee Ann) Smith (Beaver Falls) and Rod (Karen) Smith (Ellwood City); her six grandchildren Devin (Andrew) King, Josh (Ally) Sicard, Tyson (Casey) Smith, Chad (Liz) Smith, Adam (Kara Fenechi) Smith, and Brittany Smith; her nine great-grandchildren Connor, Lily, and Molly King, Cameron and Cooper Sicard, Laney and Gracie Smith, and Lila and Tyler Smith, all of whom were her pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her son in-law, Barry Sicard; two brothers, Bidwell and Madison Main and five sisters, Leona Zeigler, Ethel Streckeisen, Nina Freed, Madelyn Majors and Emma Druschel. She was the last surviving member of her family.

Curly worked alongside her husband in many business ventures, including Smith Groceries, Smith Concrete Products, and Smith Greenhouse. She also worked at Mayer China. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and The Order of Eastern Star, and was also a Cub Scout leader in her earlier years. She enjoyed spending her time camping at Pymatuning and spending winters in Florida.

The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, aides, and care givers at Providence Care Center for their excellent care. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will be no public service. If desired, contributions can be made to Providence Care Center Activity Fund or Trinity Lutheran Church.
