Catherine B. Mclaughlin

Catherine B. McLaughlin, 66, of Portersville Rd., Ellwood City (Perry Twp.) passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital following a brief illness.

Born July 8, 1952 in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Evelyn Bevington Davis. She was married to Martin D. McLaughlin for 43 years. He survives.

Cathy graduated from New Brighton High School and Indiana University of PA. She worked for Carl W. Herrmann Furs in Pittsburgh for 20 years. An accomplished seamstress, Cathy enjoyed sewing for her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Martin, survivors include a son, Tim (Tammy) McLaughlin of Portersville; a daughter, Jennifer (Dale) Blount of Harbor Creek, PA; sister, Ethel Burson of New Brighton; three brothers, David, Timothy, and Donald Davis, all of New Brighton; two sister in laws, Marge Lucas of West Mifflin, Dee Stead of New Sewickley; and four grandchildren, Wyatt and Morgan McLaughlin and Olivia and Dustin Blount.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Davis and a brother in law, Bob Lucas.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday November 26 from 1-4 and 6-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Friends will also be received on Tuesday from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am at the funeral home. Rev. Jay Sterling of the Wurtemburg United Methodist Church will officiate.
