Catherine Peffer Best

Catherine Peffer Best, 63, of West Washington St, New Castle (formerly of Ellwood City) passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital following a short illness.

Born July 12, 1954 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Donald R. and Edith M. Craven Peffer.  Catherine graduated from Lincoln High School. Her most cherished time was spent with her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Tami (James) Peffer-Palmer of Ellwood City, Jennifer (Luis) Nunez of New Castle; three sons, Justin (Emily) Best of Raleigh, NC, Joshua (Lesley) Best of Jacksonville, NC, Skylar (Shealyn) Peffer of New Castle; three brothers, Donald (Noreen) Peffer of Chambersburg, David Peffer of Chewton, Terry Peffer of Punxsutawney; ten grandchildren, Micah and Kimberlyn Peffer, Kyra, Gabe and Sam Best, Christian, Natalye, Adecyn Nunez, and Corey and Ashley Hobbs; four great grandchildren; and her lifelong companion, Robert Best of Ellwood City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Linda Cragle.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 13 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mike Wimer officiating.
