Born July 26, 1936 in North Sewickley Twp., he was the son of the late Thomas and Josephine Baird. He was married for 33 years to Shirley Baird as they were married October 30, 1982. She survives.

Charlie owned and operated his own trucking company for 35 years. He then drove for FBC Chemicals in Mars until his retirement in 1998. He was also a part owner of Eisenbrown, Baird International Harvester Dealer. He was a member of the North Sewickley Presbyterian Church since 1947. An Army Veteran, he served from 1955-1957. He was also a member of the Big Knob Tractor Club and the Portersville Steam and Antique Association. Charlie was an avid farm toy collector. His dedication to farm toys earned him a membership in the National Farm Toy Hall of Fame in Iowa. He organized and founded the Beaver Falls Farm Toy Show for 18 years. He was very proud of his five different Combine Model toys that he made from scratch.

In addition to his wife, Shirley, survivors include a son, Bill (Stacey) Bush of Ellwood City; adopted son, Rich Christy of Beaver Falls; brother, Robert (Donna Mae) Baird of Wayne Twp.; and two granddaughters, Lauren and Kelsey.
