Dale R. Mackey

Dale R Mackey, 86, of Hogue Road, Ellwood City (Slippery Rock Twp) died on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Jameson Memorial Hospital following a illness.

Born October 9, 1927 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Roy and Lois Mentzer Mackey.  He was married for 52 years to the late Grace M. Lipp Mackey who passed away October 7, 2005.

Dale was member of Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Grove City College. Dale retired from Remacor in West Pittsburg where he was a chemist. He served in the Army of Occupation in Japan following WWII.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra (Joseph) Lahr of Ellwood City; a son, Thomas R. Mackey of Cameron Mills, New York; sister, Irene Weaver of Poland, Ohio; four granddaughters, Valerie (Jared) Greco, Leslie (Tom) Crandall, Carrie (Evan) Milliken, Bonnie (Ryan) Beachem; four great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Autumn Milliken and Joel and Addelyn Crandall; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.

Funeral Services will be held at the Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Rev. Julia Williamson officiating. Military Rites will be observed by the Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
