Born April 22, 1927, in New Castle, Dale was the son of the late Frank M. and Bertha M. (Patterson) Shaw. He married the late Donna M. (Neuman) Shaw on July 21, 1950. They were married for 64 years until Donna’s passing on January 24, 2015.

Dale was a veteran of the Army, serving in Manila between 1946 -1947. Dale began his career at US Steel, then Kroger company for 15 years, and ultimately worked for State Farm as an Agent for 32 years until his retirement. Dale was a former active member of the Calvin Presbyterian Church, where he was a member of the Calvineers. He was currently attending Highland Presbyterian Church in New Castle. He served as an elder at Calvin Presbyterian Church and various other local churches, along with serving the Portersville Christian School as a Board Member. Dale was a past member of the Masonic 32nd Degree Shrine Consistory, Pittsburgh, and a Lions Club member. One of Dale’s favorite hobbies was carving and painting wooden decoy ducks and hummingbirds.
