David Buano, 91, of Ellwood City passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Jameson Hospital.
Born April 10, 1929 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Jack and Portia Moore Buano. He was married to Janice Rozen Buano in 1957. She passed away on December 20, 2011.
David graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948. He served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, from 1951-1953. He was a graduate of Geneva College. He enjoyed family, sports, bowling, and gardening. He worked at US Steel in Ellwood City and Youngstown until his retirement in 1982. He was part of the McDonald’s Ellwood City coffee crew and reluctant president of the birthday lunch club. David served his community by volunteering with the Meals on Wheels program, coaching Little League Baseball, and supervising the construction of the Ewing Park playground. He was a member of the Christian Assembly Church Pastored by Matthew Bupp.
Survivors include son, John David (Christine) Buano of Houston, TX; daughter, Phyllis J. (Jon) Visconte of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren Alexa Marie and Jenna DiRaimo both of Rochester NY and great granddaughter Gianna.
In addition to his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by four brothers; Patrick, Jim, Charlie and John Buano; and two sisters, Mary Flickinger and Florence Nye.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City.
