David L. Schotsch Sr., 63, of Main St. Wampum died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 14, 2012.
Born September 3, 1948 in New Castle, he was the son of John and Francis Ferrante Schotsch of Wampum.
He was married on October 26, 1968 to Glenda McConnell Schotsch who survives.
Dave was employed at Cemex for 41 years as a heavy equipment operator. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City. A Veteran of the US Army, Dave was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska during the Vietnam Conflict. He enjoyed working on classic Mustangs, collecting Alaska Railroad trains, his Sheltie dogs, but his most cherished time was spent with his family.
In addition to his parents and wife, Glenda, he is survived by a daughter – Michele (Michael) Blake of Wampum; son – David (Kelly) Schotsch Jr. of Shenango Twp.; four grandchildren – Kurtis and Allison Schotsch and Grace and Delanie Blake and two brothers – Dennis Schotsch of New Wilmington and Darren Schotsch of New Castle.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael David Schotsch in infancy .
There will be no visitation. A private service will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home – Wampum.
