Delores Boydell

Delores Boydell, 88, of Ellwood City passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2020 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital following a short illness.

Born March 23, 1932 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Walter and Anita Delores (Ewing) Frishkorn.  She was married for more than 66 years to Donald Edward Boydell who died April 26, 2018.

Delores graduated from Lincoln High School, class of 1950. After high school, she worked as a counter girl at Albert’s Drug store in Ellwood City, then moved across the street to begin a long career in banking, first with the Lawrence Savings and Trust Bank.  She continued with Mellon Bank in Zelienople, and Citizen Banks retiring as a commercial loan officer.  She was a life-long member of Christ Presbyterian Church. Dee enjoyed traveling, bowling leagues, bridge club, books about movies stars, visiting with friends, and baking. She is remembered as kind and honest and someone who would quietly go out of her way to help a friend or family member in need. Building and nurturing a large extended family was her priority. She will also be remembered for the strong value she placed on education and for making the very best apple pies.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Lynne (Dr. Robert) Campbell of Coudersport, PA; son, Thomas Edward Boydell of Seattle, WA; three grandchildren, Dr. Robert A.(Danielle) Campbell, Kristi L. (Zach) Pucci , Brooke E. (Cory) Meeker; two great grandchildren, Jack Campbell and Gracelyn Jo Meeker, and a number of nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dee was preceded in death by her twin sister, Anita Gillespie in 2018 and a brother, Floyd Ewing Frishkorn in 1948.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday October 21, 2020 from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at noon at Christ Presbyterian Church.  Pastor Rev. R. Tod Custer will officiate. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City.
