Delores J. Dando, Delores “Dolly” of Wampum died at age 86 on September 3, 2021 at her home surrounded by family.
Born January 24, 1935 she was last child born to Anthony and Adelina DiTommasso Scala.
She was married to Nick Dando for 53 years when he preceded her in death on March 26. 2012.
Delores was a graduate of Wampum High School and Garfield Business School. She also received certificates from Data Consultants and Midland Center for Career development for transcriptionist.
During her school years she worked as a cashier at Repman’s store. After school she worked at the A&P store as cashier, Blau Knox (Aetna) in proposal department, and retired from UPMC as a transcriptionist in 2001.
She loved cooking, playing cards and being in card clubs, crosswords, puzzles, embroidery, and crafts.
Delores was a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish.
She is survived by her two daughters, Amy Ramage, Susan Dando and three grandchildren: Hayden, Lindsey and Jordan along with many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Jennie Kramer, Mary Skvarla, Nancy Scala, Josephine Lawson, Carolyn Scala, and Mary Scala at infancy and brothers; Nick Scala, Andrew Scala and Mario Scala.
Per her wishes there will be a private funeral for her family at Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum.
