Doris L. Anderson

Doris L. Anderson, 80, of Carriage Court, Shenango Twp., formerly of North Beaver Twp. went to be with her Lord on  Thursday, June 14, 2012  following an extended illness.

Born November 15, 1931 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Paul and Esther Stimple McConnell .

She was married for 61 years to Alan L. Anderson Sr. as they married January 18, 1951.

Doris was currently a member of the Moravia Presbyterian Church.  She had formerly been a member of the Church of Genesis and the First Assembly of God Church on Pulaski Rd.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, baking, and home decorating.  Her most precious time was spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Alan, survivors include five sons – Alan L. Anderson Jr. of Atlanta, GA, William (Kathy) Anderson, Fred (Janice) Anderson, and Robert (Tammy) Anderson, all of New Castle; Ron (Sue) Anderson of Wampum;  two sisters – Alice Meade of North Beaver Twp; and her twin sister – Dolly (Jerry) Ambrose of New Galilee; thirteen grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Tindall and Margaret McConnell in infancy; and five brothers – Ralph, Ken, Howard “Bud”, Frank and John McConnell .

Visiting hours will be held  from 2-4 and 7-9 on  Tuesday June 19 at the Marshall Funeral Home. 341 Main Street Wampum.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 20 at 11:00 am with her niece, Rev. Elaine McConell Mehaffey, and nephews, Kevin McConnell, and Rev Eugene McConell, and Rev. Matthew Bupp officiating.

Interment will follow in Castleview  Memorial Gardens.
