Dorothy J. Mallary, 85, of Halltown Rd. Wampum passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at Friendship Ridge following an extended illness.
Born February 7, 1930 in Wampum, she was the daughter of the late David Grant and Mildred Alice Brewer Johnson. She was married for 41 years to George L. Mallary who passed away January 15, 1995.
Dorothy was a member of the former Newport Methodist Church. She graduated from Wampum High School. Dorothy enjoyed doing crafts and playing bingo.
She is survived by two sons, George E. and his wife Elaine Mallary of Wampum, John C. and his wife Barb Mallary of Boise, Idaho; daughter in law, Tammy Mallary of Wampum; son in law, Sam Gennaro of Hillsville; and sister and brother in law, Evelyn and James Moore of Mentor, Ohio. Dorothy is also survived by eight grandchildren, Erica, Dylan, Matthew, Heather, Kate, and Stephen Mallary, and Angela and Sammy Gennaro.
In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by son, James M. Mallary, daughter, Denise Gennaro, three sisters, Carolyn Baxter, Mildred Yesko, and infant twin sister, Alice Johnson; and two brothers, Stewart and William Johnson.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday September 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 am with Rev. C.F. Hoffman of the Galilean Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
