Dorothy Jane Tillia

Dorothy Jane Tillia, 86, of Chewton peacefully went home to be with the Lord on January 20, 2012 while at home.

She was born September 29, 1925 in the family homestead where she resided her entire life. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Mayberry) Kelly. She was married to her husband, Robert J. Tillia of 56 years on June 26, 1943. He preceded her in death on January 31, 2000. We find joy in knowing she will be reunited with them.

Along with helping her husband on his dairy farm, Dorothy worked as a bank manager in Wampum until her retirement in 1987. Because of her deep faith and love of the Lord, she was a devoted life time member of the Chewton Christian Church where she was the church organist since the age of 18. She was also the former Sunday School Superintendent of the Junior Department. She currently served as the organist for the Marshall Funeral Home in Wampum.

She will be sadly missed by her sister, Lois Jean Jacob of New Castle, PA, her brother Harold Kelly and wife Susan of Englishtown, NJ along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and great nieces and nephews whom she cherished with all of her heart.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by an infant brother, Jack in 1924 and a brother in law, Eugene Jacob.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 5 -8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, Main St. Wampum. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Chewton Christian Church. Dick Allen, Retired Pastor will officiate.

Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.

The family appreciated the many loving friends who cared so much for Dorothy through her life.
