Dorothy K. Newton, 80, of Fombell died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Ellwood City Hospital.
Born February 16, 1932 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Mary Sommers Kast.
She was married to Norman F. Newton, who passed away in December of 1983.
Dorothy was a court stenographer for 10 years for the Pa Department of Workman’s Compensation. She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church. Dorothy graduated from Lincoln High School in 1949. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
Survivors include two daughters – Roxanne (Bob) Bair of New Castle, Renee Newton of Fombell: a sister – Mary Osborne of Grove City: a brother – Martin Kast of Beaver Falls; three grandchildren – Tracy (Mitchell Brewer) Bair, Kim (DJ) Tindall, Jeff (Jessie) Bair and three great grandchildren – Shyan and Bryce Tindall and Alexis Bair.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters – Sarah Corbin, Virginia Clem, Rose Stoner, and Katherine Cortez.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday May 24 from 4 to 8 at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 25 at 11:00 am with her pastor, Rev. Tod Custer officiating.
Interment will follow in the Lillyville Church of God Cemetery.
