Dorothy L. Baker, 73, of Spring Ave. Ext., Ellwood City died on Friday, August 10, 2012 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.
Born December 17, 1938 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Ethel Clark Howard. She was married for 53 years to Ronald D. Baker, who survives.
Dorothy was the Wayne Township secretary from 1974-2008. She was also the secretary for the Lawrence County Supervisors Association from 1996-2004. She was affiliated with the Berean Presbyterian Church. Dorothy was a member of the Ellwood City Hospital Auxiliary and the Wayne Twp. Fire Department Woman’s Auxiliary. She loved cooking and baking. Her most precious time was spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Ron, survivors include a daughter, Colleen (Marty) Sberna of Atwater, GA; two sons, Bob (Pam) Baker and Bill (Heather) Baker, both of Ellwood City; brother, Don Howard of Hermitage; and nine grandchildren, Brooke, Anthony, and Katie Sberna, Nicole, Andrew, and Rebecca Baker, and Derek, Tyler, and Chelsea Baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, August 13 at 11:00 am with her pastor, Rev. Bruce Gardner officiating.
Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
