Dr. Lucille M. Watterson

Dr. Lucille M. Watterson, 86, formerly of Ellwood City passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the Presbyterian Senior Care Center in Oakmont.

Born April 25, 1931 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Nancy Russo Wolfe. She had been married for 60 years to William E. Watterson when he passed away January 14, 2013.

Lucille graduated from Lincoln High School, Geneva College and finally from the University of Pittsburgh where she earned her Masters and PhD Degrees. She retired from Slippery Rock University where she was the Dean of Continuing Education for many years. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Church.

Survivors include four sister in laws, Mary Lou (Harry) Doughty, Anna Mae Hall and Leona Wolfe, all of Ellwood City, Betty Jean Watterson of Franklin, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Mark David Watterson, a sister, Mary Schlemmer, and brothers, Frank Jr., Charles and Leonard Wolfe.

At Lucille’s request, there will be no public services. A private interment will take place in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
