Dr. Paul Allen Urffer

Dr. Paul Allen Urffer, 79, of Sewickley, formerly of Doylestown, PA passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford.

Born July 3, 1935 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Darwin Heckman Urffer and Florence Shinn Urffer.

Dr. Urffer was a Radiologist at the Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington for over 30 years. A Quaker, he was a member of the Religious Society of Friends. A Veteran of the US Army, Dr. Urffer served during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques and loved animals.

Survivors include three sons, Dr. Jonathan (Dr. Mariann McElwain) Urffer of Sewickley, David (Elizabeth) Urffer of Media, Dr. Peter (Yvonne) Urffer of Doylestown,; daughter, Megan Urffer of Ambler; and their mother, Elizabeth Morrow Urffer of Ambler; and ten grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents, his second wife, Christine Urffer, a brother, Darwin.

Family and friends will gather on Saturday at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City from 1 until the time of the Memorial Service at 2 pm. Rev. Father Dan Valentine will officiate the service.
