Edith Marie Easton

Edith Marie Leonhardt  Easton, 94, of New Castle died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the Jameson Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

Born April 26, 1918 in Slippery Rock Twp., PA,  she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Edith Julia Ann Glasser Leonhardt .

Edith was married on February 1, 1937 to Frank  Easton who passed away on July 17, 2004.

Mrs. Easton was Lutheran by faith.  She taught ceramics for a number of years.  Edith enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, and crocheting.  She also enjoyed crossword puzzles.

Survivors include two daughters;  Roberta Joyce Werner of Las Vegas, Nevada, Virginia Eleanor (Milan) McMannis of Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.

The last of her family, she was preceded in death by four brothers; Edward, William, Frederick, and Robert Leonhardt, and three sisters; Bertha Mayes, Margaret Weiss Simon, Naomi Ruth Badger.

Visiting hours will be held on  Saturday August 11, 2012 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, Inc. 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.   Rev. Peggy Suhr-Barkley will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
