Eleanor Deloris Scott Dunham, 91, of the Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care Home in New Wilmington, PA formerly of Monroeville, PA died on Monday, January 20, 2014 at her residence.
Born July 12, 1922 in Shinnston, WV, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Hattie Cornwell Scott. She was married to Harlie B. Dunham who survives of New Wilmington. They celebrated 71 years of marriage on October 16, 2013.
Eleanor formerly worked at the Chesapeake Telephone Company in West Virginia and then at the Rocky Mountain Telephone Company in Denver, CO. She returned to West Virginia and worked as the administrative assistant to the Dean of Students at Bethany College. After moving to Monroeville, she worked and retired from the Gateway School District where she was the secretary for the school psychologist. She was a former member of the Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Monroeville. Eleanor enjoyed reading, writing, and doing crafts, especially needle point pictures and painting.
In addition to her husband, Harlie, survivors include two daughters, Deloris “Lori” Dunham and her husband, Connie MacDonald of Ellwood City, PA, Mindy Anderson and her husband, William of Levittown, PA; a sister, Kathleen (Doug) McVicker of Albuquerque, NM; sister in law, Jane Scott Mattaliano of Morgantown, WV; a grandson, Eric Anderson of Levittown; and a great-granddaughter, Kyleigh Anderson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clement and Richard Scott and a sister, Altha Post.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday January 24 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Friends will also be received from 10 until the time of the funeral service at 11 am on Saturday at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 615 Crescent Ave. Ellwood City. Pastor Sean Brubaker will officiate.
Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
