Eleanor Louise Gwin

Eleanor Louise Gwin, 93, of Bessemer passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Avalon Place in New Castle.

Born September 6, 1927 in Enon Valley, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Bessie Robinson Raney. She was married to Howard A. Gwin for 48 years. He passed away on April 12, 2001.

Eleanor was a graduate of the Jameson School of Nursing. She retired from the Jameson Memorial Hospital, where she worked many years as a Registered Nurse. She was a licensed pilot and flew single engine aircrafts. Eleanor enjoyed spending time mowing her grass. She was adventurous and loved traveling the world.

Survivors include a son, Martin H. (Diane) Gwin of Bessemer; daughter, Sherry (Robert) Steindler of Manassas, VA; two granddaughters, Nikki (Michael) Burkett and Kathryn Steindler; four grandsons, Daniel (Sarah) and Matthew Gwin, Kyle and Reese Steindler; and two great grandchildren, Ellyson and Huxin Burkett.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters; Mary Muir and Grace Bobby.

Private services will be held on Sunday November 8, 2020 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Main Street Wampum.

Interment will follow in Bethel Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
