Elinore G. Davis

Her faith in her Savior and the love she gave to and received from her family carried her along the journey that Elinore G. Davis traveled until February 15, 2016. Elinore shared her smile with everyone and will long be remembered for it.

Elinore was born in North Beaver Township, PA on January 2, 1919 to the late James C. and Mary F. McConaghy Gardner. She was preceded in death by her grandson, William J. Arbogast and her siblings, Dr. James L. Gardner, Jean Miles, Margaret Anderman, Janet Dawson, Dr. Thomas A. Gardner and Mary Jane Clark.

She was married for 40 years to Harry J Davis. He passed away on July 29, 1986. Their union resulted in a loving family that includes, Nancy Davis of Wampum, Ruth (James) Klingensmith of Caledonia, Michigan, Rebecca (G. Michael) Arbogast of Beaver Falls; and Edwin Davis of Wampum. Her loving family also includes ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

Elinore was a graduate of Mt. Jackson High School and Geneva College. She taught English in Brookville, Ohio, Wampum and Ellwood City School Districts. She was an active member of the Wampum Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon. She previously was a member of the Wampum Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Visitation will be held at Marshall Funeral Home in Wampum on Wednesday, February 17 from 2-4 and 7-9. Services will be conducted by her nephew, Rev. Bruce Gardner, at 11:00 am Thursday at the funeral home. A committal service and interment will follow at Clinton Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the City Rescue Mission or to the donor’s favorite charity.
