Elmer W. “Chip” Warnick Jr. , 52, of Portersville Rd., Ellwood City (Perry Twp.) died on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Jameson Memorial Hospital following an illness.
Born August 5, 1960 in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of the late Elmer W. Warnick Sr. and Margaret L. Seaburn Warnick of Wampum. He was married to Amy Watts Warnick of New Castle.
Chip formerly worked in the Maintenance Department of the Lawrence County Courthouse. He was a member of the Galilean Presbyterian Church in New Galilee. He enjoyed swimming at the New Castle YMCA, bicycling, and playing his guitar. He was a former member of the Ellwood Wampum Rod and Gun Club.
In addition to his mother, Peg and wife, Amy, survivors include a daughter, Melissa M. Lyles of New Castle; son, Richard G. Warnick of Mercer; sister, Lisa (Randy) VanKirk of New Galilee; brother, George (Sheila) Warnick of New Castle; four grandchildren, Jordan Walsh, Alissa and Cameron Lyles, Lily Warnick; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and a grandson, Drayden Warnick.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday April 8, 2013 from 4 pm until the time of the funeral service at 6 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. His pastor, Rev. C.F. Hoffman will officiate.
