Elsie J. Marshall

Elsie J. Marshall, 101, of Kauffman Rd., Enon Valley (Little Beaver Twp.) passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Avalon Nursing Center.

Born March 28, 1913 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Henrietta Steinecke Trudal. She was married for 63 years to Calvin L. Marshall who passed away October 14, 2000.

Mrs. Marshall graduated from Enon Valley High School and from the Beaver Valley General Nursing School in 1935. She worked as a private duty nurse. She was a member of the Bethel Evangelical Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir. She was a member and past president of the former Enon Valley Women’s Club. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet Schaefer of Bessemer, Joyce DiPietro of Harmony; a son, Joel Marshall of Enon Valley; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Duane) Farrington, David (Christina) Schaefer, Stephanie (Harry) Henry, Kristin (Mark) Dershem, Heather DiPietro, Shannon (Rich) Cooper, Joel “Bud” Marshall, Ashley Marshall; and sixteen great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Gordon, Ruth Glasgow, and a son in law, FredSchaefer.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday December 30 from 5-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.

Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 pm with Rev. Dana Opp officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bethel Church Cemetery.
