Erma M. Shoup, 94, of Jefferson Avenue, Ellwood City died on Friday, November 30, 2012 at her residence following an illness.
Born April 19, 1918 in Seneca, PA, she was the daughter of the late Merle and Emily (Weaver) Cotherman. She was married to Leon Shoup for 72 years who survives.
Erma was the executive secretary to District Attorney, Ken Fox at the Lawrence County Courthouse. She was a member of the Calvin Presbyterian Church. Erma graduated from the Oil City High School and the Welsh Business College. During the war, she was an inspector of airplane propellers at Curtis Wright. She was a member and past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her husband, Leon, survivors include a son, Karl (Jean Ann) Shoup of West Pittsburg; daughter, Carol (Frank) Sbarra of Ellwood City; sister, Esther Jean Bell of Erie; three grandchildren, Jodi Lynn (Kelley) Bartley, Karl Shoup Jr., and Melissa (Chris) Clark and five great greandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday December 2, 2012 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Member of the Order of the Eastern Star will meet at the funeral home at 5:00 pm for services.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 3 at 1:00 pm with her pastor, Rev. Tod Custer officiating.
Interment will follow in the Monroe Cemetery in Knox, PA.
