Ethel J. Lechner. 95

Ethel J. Lechner, 95, of Old Pittsburgh Road, Shenango Township died Friday October 26 at the Jameson Memorial Hospital.

Born January 23, 1917 in Eastbrook, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Edna Minich Munnell.

She was married to George W Lechner who died July 1 1982.

She was an active member of Castlewood Alliance Church, where she was a former deaconess, and the pianist for 65 years. She graduated from Eastbrook High School, where she played basketball, and New Castle Business College. In her youth she worked at New Castle Notion Company. Ethel was known as “Grandma Buns” by her family for her homemade buns and cookies. She enjoyed playing hymns and was a member of a gospel trio in her youth.

Survivors include a son – Ronald and wife Elaine Lechner of Shenango Township; his twin sister- Bonnie and husband Paul Miller of Pulaski, 2 other daughters- Joyce and husband Terry Skillman of Shenango, Cheryl and husband John Walker of Shenango Township; 11 grandchildren – Amy, Kevin, and Shawn Lechner, Eric and Brad Miller, Heather Kanazawa, Rhonda Mason, Doug Skillman, Ryan, Kristen, and Lindsey Walker and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and four sisters- Miriam and Lucillle Munnell, Louise Patton, and Betty Huston.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday October 29, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street Wampum.

Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on October 30, 2012 at 10:00 am with her pastor Rev. James O’ Hara officiating.

Interment will follow in the Harmony Baptist Cemetery.
