Ethel Mae Harper, 88, of New Beaver Boro died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the Ellwood City Hospital following a brief illness.

Born March 3, 1924 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late John and Elsie Cunningham Grinnen. She was married to George E. Harper who passed away in 1979.

Ethel Mae is survived by one son, Donald L. (Marilyn) Harper of Wampum; two grandchildren, Nathan Harper of Wampum, Maggie Harper (Steve Sparano) of New Castle, two great-granddaughters, Danielle and Amber Harper of Wampum; four sisters, Jean (Walter) Kirkwood of Wampum, Hazel (Ed) Yahn of Harrisville, Lynda Grinnen of South Carolina, Judy Butera of Wampum; one brother, Lynn Grinnen of Wampum and Rose Capan of Wampum.

She was preceded in death by a son, G. Dennis Harper, and six brothers, James R. “Rags”, Ralph, Robert, Walter, John, and Jerry Grinnen.

Friends will be received from noon until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 8 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Main St. Wampum. Pastor Dick Allen will officiate.
