Evelyn McCann Barber, 74, of New Galilee, died on Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Friendship Ridge following an illness.
She was born on June 29, 1938, to the late Lawrence and Idora Robinson McCann and was married to the late Robert E. Barber.
She had formerly attended the Clinton United Methodist Church.
Evelyn’s most cherished time was spent caring for her beloved family.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Cook and Bonnie Smith; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Pam Barber; 14 grandchildren, Fred Jr., Melissa, Angela, Charles, Jack, Randy, Tom, Richy, Shane, Willie, Rob, Mark, Tanaya and Shelby; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Phyllis Bobin, Gladys Brown and Martha McCann and a brother, Joseph McCann.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Barber; a grandson, Robert Barber III; her son-in-law, Fred Cook Sr.; four brothers, Lawrence Jr., Norman, Roy and Thomas and four sisters, Margaret, Mary Alice, Mildred and Joann.
The family will receive friends from noon until the memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at the Darlington Fire Hall. Pastor Paul Poole of the First Assembly of God, Patterson Twp., will conduct services followed by a luncheon in her honor.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, Main Street, Wampum.
