Floyd L. Mayberry

Floyd L. Mayberry, 74, of Portersville Rd., Ellport passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at UPMC Passavant Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born November 6, 1940 in Ellwood City,he was the son of the late Floyd E. and Betty Russell Mayberry. He was married for 56 years to Judith A. Grady Mayberry as they were married September 23, 1959. She survives.

Floyd was a lifelong mechanic. He worked at many local companies including 27 years at Halstead Industries, 3 years at SSD Distribution, 3 years at Trinity Industries and 8 years at BNZ Materials. He also worked at Timpano Motors for his good friend Bill. Floyd was the Chief of Police for Ellport Borough from 1973-1982. His hobbies included repairing bicycles, fishing, and hunting. He enjoyed his morning coffee with the 10 am crew at McDonald’s. Floyd was a former member of the Ellwood City Saxon Club. His most cherished time was spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Judy, survivors include daughter, Beth (Ken) Riedel of New Castle; son, Randy (Tracy) Mayberry of New Castle; aunt, Evelyn (Leroy) Scott of Ohio; five grandchildren, Troy Everetts, Shelby Everetts, David Riedel, Alicia Boots, Jeff (Brittney) Ecenrode; three great grandchildren, Paige and Ethan Boots and Maura Ecenrode; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Jo Mayberry on October 25, 2014 and a sister, Darlene Wheeler.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday October 13 from 5 pm until the time of the funeral service at 8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Pastor Randy Crum will officiate. Interment will follow in Slippery Rock Cemetery.
