Francis “Frank” Capalbo

Francis “Frank” Capalbo, 81, of Dutch Ridge Road, Ellwood City died on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at his residence following a brief illness.

Born September 17, 1931 in Wampum, he was the son of the late Gilio “Jim” Capalbo and Angeline Christian .

He was married to Donna L. Claybundy in 1962.

Frank graduated from Wampum High School in 1949. He was a Veteran with the US Army serving in Korea as a Medic. Then he was a member of the National Guards 28th Signal Battalion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, 1 son – Don and wife Elaine Bauder of Ellwood City; 4 daughters – Bridgette Capalbo of New Castle, Tina and husband Joe DeCaria of Ellwood City, Rhoda and husband Clint Francis of New Brighton, Rhonda McConahy of Ellwood City; 3 sisters – Rosemarie and husband Joseph Bellissimo of Ellwood City, Mary Jane and husband Phillip Winter of West Pittsburg Betty and husband Ron Petroff of Ambridge; brother – Anthony Capalbo of Wampum; and a sister in law, Joan Capalbo of Patterson Heights. 7 Grandchildren – Francine Vogel, Chelsea Gallagher, Vincent DeCaria, Brandon Francis, Courtney Francis, Kirsten McConahy, and Nico DeCaria. 2 great-granchildren, Bob and Anna Vogel.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Pete and Edgar Capalbo.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday October 21, 2012 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, Inc. 341 Main Street Wampum.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Holy Redeemer Church on Monday October 22, 2012 at 10:00 am.

Interment will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.

Military Rites will be observed by the Veterans Honor Guard.
