Frank E.  Boots, 65, of Bridge St , Ellwood City died on  Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the Evergreen Nursing Center following a  2 year  illness.

Born January 30, 1947 in Ellwood City, PA,  he was the son of the late Norman Harold Boots  and Nellie Louise Newton Boots. He was married to Susan E. Lawyer Boots on August 24, 1968, she survives.

Frank was a life member of the Wurtemburg United Methodist Church.  He was a member of the United Wesleyan Sunday School class for 44 years, where he was treasurer for many years.  He was a graduate of Lincoln High School In 1964 and Slippery Rock State College in 1968 with a Bachelors in Education with a major in math.  Frank retired in 1988 folowing 30 years of teaching math at Lincoln High School.  While at Lincoln , he taught many students to drive, sold tickets at basketball and football games, ran the clock for wrestling mathches, and kept score at girl’s basketball games.  Frank was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed many years at his family’s hunting camp near Cook Forest.  For many years he pulled clays at the annual Boots-Ketterer rivalry on the Thanksgiving Day Reunion.

In addition to his wife  Sue, survivors include a son – Darin E. and wife Christy Wright Boots of Cranberry Township; daughter – Lisa E Boots of Ellwood City; sister – Betty and husband Gene MacDonald of Zainesville, OH; sister in law – Joyce Boots of Ellwood City; grandson – Jason E Boots; granddaughter – Rachel E Boots;

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers- Robert Harold and Donald Dean Boots, and a sister- Nancy Faye Boots.

Visiting hours will be held on  Tuesday November 6, 2012 from 2:00  to 4:00  and from 7:00  to 9:00  at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.

Funeral Services will be held at the Wurtemburg United Methodist Church on November 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jean Smith  officiating.  Interment will follow in the Slippery Rock Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wurtemburg United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
