Frank Lloyd Steffler, 92, of Fombell passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family following an extended illness.
Born July 18, 1921 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Clair G. and Nellie Weller Steffler. He was married for 54 years to Lucille E. Druschel Steffler who passed away March 11, 1999.
Frank graduated from Lincoln High School in 1939 and served in the Navy from 1942 to 1946, serving in Sicily and North Africa Conflicts. Frank worked at US Steel as a millwright until it closed and then with Commercial Machine Works until his retirement. Frank was a member of the Camp Run Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder for many years. He was also a member of the Harmony Masonic Lodge and the New Castle Consistory. Lloyd was a 70 year member of the Pleasant Valley Grange. Local history and genealogy were his favorite hobbies.
Survivors include three daughters, Joan (Bruce) Badger of Wampum, Carol Ceccatti of Fombell, Linda McMillan of Texas; son, Glen (Carole) Steffler of Beaver Falls; brother, George Steffler of Fombell; six grandchildren, Jessica Palmer, Josie Badger, Sarah Robertson, Mitchell, Caleb and Emily Steffler; and three great grandchildren, Madison and Michael Palmer and Logan Steffler.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday April 21 from 4-7 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Friends will also be received on Tuesday from 10 until the time of the funeral service at 11 at the Camp Run United Presbyterian Church. His pastor, Rev. Andrew Shaffer will officiate. Interment will follow in the Camp Run Church Cemetery.
