George J. Weber

George J. Weber, 86, of New Galilee passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at the Lakeview Personal Care Home in Darlington following an extended illness.

Born May 7, 1934 in Homewood, he was the son of the late William C. and Annabel (Forney) Weber Sr.

George retired in 1987 as a dispatcher from Babcock and Wilcox following 35 years of service. He then worked at the Brighton Manor in the Maintenance Department for a number of years. George was affiliated with the Homewood Methodist Church. He was a proud veteran, serving in the Korean and Cold Wars. He was a member of the VFW New Galilee Post 8106 and the West Mayfield Vets. George was also active with the Veteran’s Honor Guard for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and listening classic music.

Survivors include a sister, Marion Brown of Ellwood City, sister in law, Shirley Weber of Monaca; dear friend, Ann Daugherty of New Galilee and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Flora Garman, Virginia Harris, Mary Primerano, Dorothy Johnson, and five brothers, William Jr., Walter, Glenn, Clifford, and Warren Weber.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, services will be private. Final interment will take place in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions in memory of George may be made to the Veterans Honor Guard.
