Helen Burns, 94, of Portersville Rd. Perry Township passed away surrounded by her family Sunday, June 2, 2024 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born December 2, 1929 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Thelma Bartle McKinney Smith. She was married to Kenneth Burns for 66 years when he passed away in 2014.
Helen graduated from Lincoln High School and was a member of the Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed spending time at home and at her camp in Marionville. Above all Helen cherished moments with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Dell) Streckeisen of Ellwood City. Known as "Grandma Get Down" she is survived by 9 grandchildren, Sean (Dawn), Brent, and Larry Burns, Troy (Tammy) and Josh (Nicole), and Kassi (Henry) Streckeisen, and Danielle, Nicole, and Joel Carosi; 11 great-grandchildren, Katie, Patrick, Jenessa, Allissa, Brittany, Matthew, Emelia, Matthew, Jeremi, Logan, and Landon, three great-great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Major, and Eloise, and two daughters-in-law, Peggy and Patty Burns.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Kenneth, Larry, and Randy Burns; great-granddaughter Kaylee Marie; two brothers and their wives Walt (Lenore) and Norman (Rose) McKinney and her sister and her husband Joann (Patsy) Piccirillo.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday June 5, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on June 6, 2024 at 11:00 am with Rev. Tod Custer officiating. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
