Helen E. Kosior

Helen E. Kosior, 93, of Third Ave. Koppel died on  Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the Mary Evans Extended Care Unit of the Ellwood City Hospital following a brief illness.

Born August 8, 1918 in Wampum, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Katherine Somin Hervatine Sr.

She was married to Raymond  Kosior who passed away June 30, 1979.

Mrs. Kosior was a member of Holy Redeemer Church.  She was a member of the former Queen of Heaven Church in Koppel.  During WWII, Helen worked at the Medusa Cement Co.

Survivors include a daughter – Patty (Don) Haydo of Beaver; a sister – Ann Braykovich of Ellwood City, PA; 12 grandchildren, including Travis Jeffries with whom she resided; and a number of great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 4 sons – John, Joseph, Oswald, Anthony Kosior; a daughter – Marlene Jeffries; 2 brothers, Steve and Michael Hervatine; and 3 sisters – Margaret, Barbara and Mary Hervatine.

Visiting hours will be held on  Wednesday March 21, 2012 from 2 – 4 and 7-9 at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Redeemer Church on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 10:00 am with Rev. Father Lou Pascazi officiating.

Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
