Iris Jean Ketterer

Iris Jean Ketterer, 81, formerly of Big Beaver Borough, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at the Beaver Valley Nursing Center following a lengthy illness.　

Born November 22, 1931, in New Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Earl F. and Ethel M. Alberth Ketterer.　

Iris was a member of the former Queen of Heaven Church in Koppel, where she had taught CCD classes, belonged to the Christian Mothers and sang in the choir. Iris was employed as a clerk at both Neineinger’s and Pavlovic’s Markets retiring in 1995. As a young adult, she enjoyed the outdoors, walking her dog, Tramp, and riding bicycles.　

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nola Ruth Ketterer on Feb. 27, 1999.　

Survivors include an uncle, Andrew Ketterer, New Brighton, several cousins and many loving friends.　

A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at 10 a.m. with burial to follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, Main Street, Wampum.
