J. Edward Keane

J. Edward Keane, 66, Beechwood Blvd., Ellwood City, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness.

Born October 31, 1945, in Ellwood City, he was the son of John and Ruth Ada Marion Keane. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964. He was employed for 36 years as a water treatment plant operator for PA American Water. A former member of the Ellwood City Fire Dept., Ed was a van driver for Northview Estates and belonged to the Ellwood City Jaycees. He was a Specialist 5 in the US Army 82nd Airborne, where he was a driver for the company commander. He was a member of the Holy Redeemer Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert L. Keane in 2009.

Surviving are his wife, Paula Estkowski Keane; three daughters, Brooke Keane, Pittsburgh, Erin (Kevin) Monaghan and Amy (Brad) Badovick; one son, Patrick Keane, all of Philadelphia; one sister, Diane (Albert) Morini, Ellwood City; three brothers, Phillip (Virginia) Keane, FL, Thomas (Carolyn) Keane, Ellwood City and Dennis (Kathy) Keane, New Castle, and two grandchildren, Ronan and Paige Badovick.

Friends will be received on Monday, February 20, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church. Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Full military honors will be conducted by the Veteran’s Honor Guard.
