Jackie L. Pumphrey

Jackie L. Pumphrey Sr., 73 of New Castle passed peacefully to rest with his Lord surrounded by his loving family.

Born May 26, 1941 in Weston, WV, he was the son of the late Cecil and Minnie Riffle Pumphrey.

Jackie’s family moved to PA in the 1950’s. His pleasures in life included; fishing, camping, working on cars, and music. His most cherished time was spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Mary Ellen Young Pumphrey along with two sons, Jackie (Darlene) Pumphrey and Jeffrey Pumphrey; four daughters, Brenda (Ron) Estermyer, Cindy (Ron) Steele, Judy Grim, Debbie (Jeff) Suchyta; brother, Daniel (Jessie) Pumphrey; three sisters, Jean (Jerry) Javens, Sharon (Edward) Stasik, Diana (Jimmie) Gross. He celebrated life with his 20 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, a brother, an infant son, a great grandson, and a son in law.

Jackie’s wishes were for no public visitation. A memorial service for family members was hosted by Pastor John Fraser of the Maitland Lane Free Methodist Church in New Castle.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum.
