James P. Douglas, 83, of North Sewickley Twp. passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Heritage Valley Hospital in Beaver.
Born December 18, 1935 in Wampum, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Julia I. Laughlin Douglas. He was married to Donna Irwin Douglas who survives.
Jim served as the Union President of Local # 8183 of the United Steelworkers of America for 29 years. He worked at St. Joe’s Zinc Corporation. Jim served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church. Jim enjoyed gardening and taking care of his lawn. He loved his union duties and his family.
In addition to his wife, Donna, survivors include six daughters, Jeanna Irwin and Jaime (Kurt) Fryer, both of North Sewickley, Brandy Dolenak of Wampum, Melissa Newton of Zelienople, Frances (Johnny) Bell of Erie, Monica (Terry) Claunch of Port Orange, Florida; three sons, Patrick (Georgette) Douglas and Michael Douglas, both of North Sewickley, Wesley Douglas of Daytona Beach; Florida; nineteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
The last of his family, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Singo, and two brothers, Charles E. and R. Duane Douglas.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 16 from 2 pm until the time of the funeral service at 6 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Pastor John Phipps will officiate. Interment will take place in Clinton Cemetery.
