Jarvis Brenneman

Jarvis Brenneman, 83, of Greenville, SC, formerly of Portersville, fought the good fight, finished the course and kept the faith.  He was welcomed to his heavenly home by his loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 10, 2014, and received his ultimate healing.

Born December 21, 1930 in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John J. and Geraldine Newton Brenneman.

Jarvis was retired from Bob Jones University where he served faithfully in the Paint Department for 45 years.

Always quick with a smile and a hearty laugh, Jarvis lived his life joyfully and selflessly helping others. He was a meticulous painter, furniture refinisher, avid fisherman and enjoyed his garden and taking care of his yard.  Above all else, he loved his Lord Jesus Christ and adored his family.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Freda; his daughters Sandy (Les) Wagner of Kansas City, Kansas; Flo (Cal) Mair of Brevard, NC; Patty (Tim) Good of Taylors, SC and his son, Sam (Laura) Brenneman of Travelers Rest, SC.  In addition, he is survived by 11 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.  He was the anchor in our family and we loved him dearly.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 on Tuesday, January 14 at Portersville Bible Church.  The funeral service will be at 3:00 with the Rev. Michael Charles officiating.  Interment will be in Portersville Bible Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The WILDS, 3201 Rutherford Road P.O. Box 509. Taylors, SC 29687-0009
