Jay C. Kanzleiter, 53, of Fombell passed away Monday, November 29, 2021. Although in ill health death was unexpected.
Jay was born January 24, 1968 in Ellwood City, to the late Louis R. and Elizabeth Balbercek Kanzleiter. He was married to Heather “Heidi” Schriver Kanzleiter.
Jay graduated from Riverside in 1986. Jay was a self employed painter. He was a member of Mountville Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. Jay was a proud Corporal in the US Marines and served in the Gulf War and Desert Storm as a radio operator. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, gardening, boating, and camping.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years Heidi; daughter, Kiersten Kanzleiter and son, Jacob Kanzleiter both of home; four sisters, Marsha (Mike) Chesko of North Sewickley Township, Lori (Robert Zikeli) Coulter of Ellwood City, Paulette (Vince) Plavecsky of Chippewa Township and Elizabeth (Douglas) Moshi of San Francisco; three brothers, Richard (Sandy) Gadzia of Venice, FL, Louis (Nancy) Kanzleiter of Altoona and Joseph (JoAnna) Kanzleiter of Houston, TX and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Linda L. Kapec-Bortz.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday December 2, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Funeral Services will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home, on December 3, 2021 at 11:00 am with Rev. Patrick Keeley officiating. Military Rites will be observed.
Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude’s or Shriners Hospital.
