Joan M. Brommer

Joan M. Brommer, 70, of Meadville (formerly of New Castle) passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Geauga Medical Center in Chardon, Ohio following an illness.

Born December 29, 1946 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Margaret Jeanette Scott Porada. She was married on June 24, 1978 to Donald E. Brommer who passed away April 26, 2016.

Joan enjoyed gardening and canning her vegetables. She also enjoyed camping and fishing. Her most cherished time was spent with her late husband and their family especially their grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons, Carl (Kathy) Brommer of Meadville, Donald (Jody) Brommer of New Castle, Dan (Kim) Hodge of Tionesta; daughter, Danielle (Mike) Cross of Orwell, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband and a sister, Mary Bowers.

A Celebration of Joan’s Life will take place on Friday, May 5 at the Maitland Lane Free Methodist Church at 1:00 pm with Pastor John Fraser officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum.
