John B. Edwards

John B. Edwards, 72, of New Galilee passed away Monday, June 6, 2022 at his sister’s residence.

Born September 9, 1949 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Roy D. and Helen R. Hamilton Edwards.

John was a member of the Pathway Church in Chippewa where he also served as a janitor and as a volunteer. He loved the farm life especially in his younger years. An avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed biking, hiking, golfing, and time spent in his garden. He was active with the North Country Trail. Some of his other interests were trains, trivia, and wrestling. Most of all John loved time with family and family gatherings. He will be remembered as a kind, humorous, generous, and loyal man.

Survivors include two sisters, H. Arlene (Jim) Hiskey of Wampum and Karen Worrell of Mars; two nieces, Sandra Curry of New Castle and Chanelle (Kelly) Zimmerman of Harwich, MA; three nephews, Ben (Theresa) Edwards of New Galilee, William (Amber) Edwards of Washington, PA, and Andrew (Aubrey) Hiskey of Mars; great nieces and nephews Jedidiah and Mia Zimmerman, Tim, Khloe, Zachery, Alexis and Makayla Edwards and Reagan Hiskey; Uncle and Aunt, John and Alice Mae Hamilton; his aunts Mildred Steinecke and Alice Thompson; and many cousins.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother Keith in 2020, and his sister Janice Roberta Edwards in infancy.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday June 11, 2022 from 9:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 am at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main St. Wampum. His Pastor, Jeff McNicol of the Pathway Church in Chippewa will officiate.

A private interment for immediate family only will follow in Clinton Cemetery on Monday June 13, 2022.
