John F. Ippolito

John F. Ippolito, 92, of Wood Street, Ellwood City, died Sunday, May 13, 2012 in the Ellwood City Hospital.

Born in Wampum, on July 4, 1919, he was the son of the late Anthony and Elizabeth Satar Ippolito. John was first married to Frances DeTullio who died on Nov. 19, 1968 and then married Dorothy Dahl, who died on Sept. 18, 2002. He retired from the PA State Liquor Control Board with 30 years of service as a retail store manager. John was a former member of St. Monica Church in Wampum and Queen of Heaven Parish. A graduate of Wampum High School, he served in the Army during World War II. He was a life member of Loyal Order of Moose No. 93 in Ellwood City. John was an avid hunter.

Survivors include his sister, Dorothy (Glenn) Campbell, Ellwood City, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, three sisters, Mary Ippolito, Anna Kwolek and Betty Dombeck and four brothers, Anthony, Harrison, Ray and Louis Ippolito.
A blessing service will be conducted in the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery, where military rites will be observed by the Veteran’s Honor Guard.
