John “Jack” Jennings

John “Jack” Jennings, 90, formerly of Fombell passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Northview Estates following a brief illness.

Born October 25, 1928 in Franklin Twp., he was the son of the late James and Marjorie Galbreath Jennings . He was married for 63 years to Doris M. Drushel Jennings who passed away May 3, 2016.

Jack retired in 1987 from Babcock and Wilcox where he worked in the Hot Finish Department. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946. Jack served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion. He was a member, Deacon, and former Trustee at the former Knox Presbyterian Church. For many years on Memorial Day, Jack placed flags on veterans graves at local cemeteries. He also enjoyed gardening and yard work.

Survivors include a son, Barry (Maggie) Jennings of Fombell; daughter in law, Christine Jennings of Fombell; four grandsons, Charles, Curtis, Kevin, and Matthew Jennings; and three great grandchildren, Tyler, Elizabeth, and Owen Jennings.

In addition to his wife, Jack was preceded in death by his brother, William and his son, Curtis in 2000.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, October 13 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Friends will also be received at the funeral home on Monday from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Dennis Arndt of Lillyville Church of God officiating. Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery. Military Rites will be observed by the Veterans Honor Guard.
