John Prinzi, 72, of 210 Short Street, Denny Schill Manor, Ellwood City died on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Allegheny General Hospital following a brief illness.
Born June 28, 1942 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Samuel J. and Alda M. Aiken Prinzi .
John was a graduate of Lincoln High School. He retired as a carrier for the Ellwood City Ledger after many years of service.
John dedicated his free time in support of Ellwood City Little Leagues, youth basketball and women’s softball serving as both a spectator and coach. He was also an avid Penguins fan.
Survivors include dear friend and companion, Anna Mae Kyle of Ellwood City, PA; two sisters, Mary Lou Prinzi of Allison Park, PA, Patricia (Fred) Schroeder of Cleveland Heights, OH; brother, Ray (Pam) Prinzi of Erie, PA; and was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday January 9, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am. at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Ralph Phillips will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
