Joseph A. Procopio

Joseph A. Procopio, 67, of Reed Rd., New Castle (North Beaver Twp.) passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 8, 2015 in the Emergency Room of Jameson Memorial Hospital.

Born May 6, 1948 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Helen Anthony Procopio. He was married for 44 years to Catherine J. Meade Procopio who survives.

Joe graduated from Mohawk High School. He retired in 2010 from North Beaver Township where he worked in the Maintenance Department. He enjoyed camping and hunting. His most cherished time was spent with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Cathy, survivors include three daughters, Valerie (James) Funera of New Castle, Susan (Frank) Mangina of New Castle, Cheryl (Hercules) Savakis of Pulaski; son, Anthony (Christina) Procopio of New Castle; brother, Richard S. (Kathy) Procopio of New Castle; and thirteen grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Carol Doran, and a granddaughter, Olivia Savakis.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday June 10 from 5-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.

Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 am with Rev. Eugene McConnell officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Park Cemetery.
