Joseph J. Buzzelli, 92, of Franklin Twp., Ellwood City passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver following a lengthy illness.
Born August 29, 1924 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late John and Girloma Frazzini Buzzelli. He was married to Mary Ann Pasquarelli Buzzelli who passed away on August 26, 2013.
Joe retired from J & L Steel in Aliquippa. Following his retirement, he was well known as recently as two years ago as a handyman. He was a Veteran of the Army, serving in the European Theatre during WWII. Joe was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish and the SOI Club. He enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach for the winters. His most cherished time was spent with family.
Survivors include a son, Randy (Barbara) Buzzelli of Niantic, Connecticut; a daughter, Dona (Bill) Jamison of Wampum; sister, Ann Tillia of Darlington.; three grandchildren, Joseph (Nicole) Buzzelli, Karla (Clay) Wilbanks, Kyle (Hannah) Jamison; and six great grandchildren; Victoria, Alex, and Karmella Buzzelli, Brooke and Shane Wilbanks, and River Jamison.
In addition to his wife, Joe was preceded in death by three brothers, Adam Sozio, Rudy Buzzelli, and Orie Buzzelli; and four sisters, Augostine “Augie” Antinozzi, Flora Mariani, Rose Vitto, and Grace Conglose.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday March 3 from 4 to 8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. A Blessing service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 am with Rev. Father Mark Thomas officiating. Private entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Mausoleum. Military rites will be offered by the Veterans Honor Guard.
