Joyce A. McDanel, 72, of North Sewickley Twp. passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at her residence following a courageous three year battle with cancer.

Born April 15, 1946 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Collins Dell and Ethel Main Streckeisen. She was married to Donald G. McDanel for 47 years as they were married September 20, 1970. He survives.

Joyce graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964. She formerly worked at the Dustproof Mattress Company. She was a 45 year member of the Concord United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, and sports. For 10 years Joyce planted the flowers at the entrance of Brush Creek Park. Joyce always had a positive attitude and loved people.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Lisa (Randy) Tammaro of Ellwood City, Nicole Scott of Orlando, Florida; sister, Connie (Rob) Wilson of Ellwood City; brother, Dell (Vickie) Streckeisen of Ellwood City; and her special niece, Ryleigh Haibach.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Anna Mae Mulhollen.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, May 20 from 1 pm until the time of the funeral service at 4 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Pastor John Phipps will officiate.

The family wishes to express their thanks to Vitas Hospice and Dr. Jason Rodriguez for the kind and compassionate care that they showed Joyce.
