June Pitzer

June Pitzer, 85, formerly of Wampum passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Hospice of Western Reserve in Euclid, Ohio following a brief illness.

Born January 22, 1930 in North Sewickley Twp, she was the daughter of the late David Stanford and the late Sarah Porter Stanford Rivas. She was married for 64 years to Ralph L. Pitzer who passed away January 18, 2014.

June was an active member of the Wampum Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, Deacon and former Trustee. She also was the coordinator for the Forever Young Ones Group for many years. She worked for Integra Bank in Wampum and then retired from PNC Bank in Ellwood City. June enjoyed bowling and traveling to Las Vegas. Her most cherished time was spent with family.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen (Bob) Caron of Willoughby, Ohio; two sisters, Betty “Bing” Samida of Flushing, Michigan, Faye Moore of Prospect; grandson, Bob (Erin) Caron Jr. of Homerville, Ohio; and a great-granddaughter, Lilly Caron.

In addition to her husband, June was preceded in death by a son, Ralph “Sammy” Pitzer Jr.; five brothers, William, David “Bud”, Thomas, Howard “Hoot” and Russell “Butch” Stanford and four sisters, Melda Martin, Kathleen “Kass” Brenner, Annie Oliver, and Rachel Stanford.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday August 6 from 4-7 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 am with her pastor, Rev. Dr. William R. McGary officiating. Interment will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.
